Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2012 Full Show | EXCLUSIVE | PARIS, October 4, 2011 | Paris Fashion Week | High Quality (HQ)
Video Rating: 4 / 5
The “Bill” in question is 80+ New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham. For decades, this Schwinn-riding cultural anthropologist has been obsessively and inventively chronicling fashion trends and high society charity soirées for the Times Style section in his columns “On the Street” and “Evening Hours.” Documenting uptown fixtures (Wintour, Tom Wolfe, Brooke Astor, David Rockefeller—who all appear in the film out of their love for Bill), downtown eccentrics and everyone in between, Cunningham’s enormous body of work is more reliable than any catwalk as an expression of time, place and individual flair. In turn, Bill Cunningham New York is a delicate, funny and often poignant portrait of a dedicated artist whose only wealth is his own humanity and unassuming grace.
They sort of had a? hard time walking on those
it’s like all the dresses/skirts have that same hem (flared pleated? hemline) . . .some of them r cute tho . .
go back? to hot topic
whats the name of the song ? i love it, could you help me to find? this song ?
They are! I’ve tried some? pairs on in stores and they’re pretty nice! I wish I got to try on a pair of McQueen though
I agree sarah Burton has not been able to keep up with the inovative vision McQueen? had…she presents the same over and over
Just to add? those kind of heels are pretty comfortable…i own a pair not by McQueen tho
Ok I take that back concerning the last few dresses, I am in love with the last few dresses!!!! those definitely made? the show a lot more exquisite!!
I’m a little bored with this year’s spring and fall collection, a little? too demure and soft, I feel it’s missing that McQueen rebellious hard edge to it but I like that it has a touch of that with the awesome shoes!!
put them a? pittza on their head and call it fashion!
one word? “GLAMOUR”…..exellent job¡¡¡¡xoxo¡¡¡
03:34 – why? are you not on my closet yet?
I think what you see as reoccurrence is just Sarah Burton’s style.? You don’t have to a see a label to know that it’s a McQueen, sort of like Chanel.
What’s the music at the start of this show?…?
I could see Lady Gaga in most of these.
I really like the more flowy ones,? not a fan of all the peplum-style jacket/skirt combos toward the beginning. They looked really dated, to me.
Overall really nice though. I love the accessories.
It’s like… Victorian-fetish-fairy-spider-alien…
04:43 Spidey’s Girl in Summer wear.? LOL
This is? another way to conceive fashion… beautiful

@ZamsadaZombie Yeah I? don’t either. It’s very interesting though.
I dont see a normal? person wearing things like this though
Inspiring human being
tks! Fidoc’s12?
i recently watched this film,i love it!he’s very humble and doesn’t need fame to feel good about himself but? I’m kinda sad though sometimes watching him alone…coz we all grow old and eventually we’ll reach that point but I’m sure he doesn’t feel that way coz I can see that he’s a happy person. =)

Thank you? very much!
I don’t know exactly, but nearly all of the jazz(y) music? in the film was by the Lounge Lizards, so it’s probably in the film credits and/or soundtrack (if one’s available).

For music fans: the first 30 seconds of this excellent clip feature London-based composer Paul Reeves’ ‘Swingin’? Out’ from Paul’s Quirky Vintage album. You can find the track in iTunes.
u seem to be unaware this is the velvet underground, one of the greatest bands ever, and especially important to new york in the 70s, which was probably one of the most important times in bill cunningham’s career. makes sense now, right? but i guess knowing about shit and contextualizing is for? “(stupid) hipsters” (whatever you mean by that), too, right?
Bill, the man who exists in a world full to extreme with Ego’s………..but without any himself?
it’s? Nico from the 60′s…
awesome documentary, i? love it!
Stud?
I hate? that stupid song in the end.. relax, hipster.
”Ever since reading Thoreau’s? Walden, I have been teased by the notion
of leading a life with only the bare essentials and peacefulness. I
lacked the nerve to find that little cottage and plant those rows of
beans. Bill Cunningham lives a life as pure and idealistic as
Thoreau’s, and he does it in the middle of Manhattan. Until a few
years ago, when he was evicted by his landlord, Bill lived in a tiny
rent-controlled apartment in Carnegie Hall. — ROGER EBERT
”In “Bill Cunningham New York,” Bill celebrates his
80th bday. Every day of his life he still pedals around Manhattan
on his bicycle, taking photographs of what people are wearing. He has
been famous for many years for doing this, and his work has been
featured in such places as Women’s Wear? Daily, Vogue, and the original
Details magazine. U can find him featured in big spreads in the
New York Times, whose publisher, Sulzberger, was among those
at his birthday party. — EBERT
”Do not make the mistake of calling Bill Cunningham a “fashion
photographer.” He is a photographer of people and what they wear.
Don’t call him a “paparazzo.” He doesn’t know who half the celebrities
are and doesn’t care. He’s genuinely? fascinated by what people wear —
not by haute couture, but by what makes people feel good about
themselves. He cycles to social events …will stop in the middle of the
street if he spots an interesting hat. — EBERT
”I mentioned his laugh. This is a man who seems always delighted. He
smiles and laughs warmly and easily. Does that? makes him sound …
simple? There is nothing simple about Bill Cunningham, who is an
artist and a philosopher. Here’s what it is: Bill is happy. He has
invented an occupation he does better than anyone else ever has, he
has simplified his life until nothing interferes with that vocation,
and now, at over 80, he is still biking around Manhattan … — ROGER EBERT
”It doesn’t matter if you care nothing at all about clothing, fashion
or photography. You might still enjoy “Bill Cunningham New York,”
because here is a good and joyous man who leads a life that is perfect
for him,? and how many people do we meet like that? This movie made me
happy every moment I was watching it.” – ROGER EBERT
”Cunningham is vague about his life. He seems to have all the money he
needs, but not from a rich family. The director of this documentary, asks: “You don’t need to? answer this,
but have you ever had a romantic relationship? Bill is delighted by
the question and laughs spontaneously: “Are you asking if I’m gay?” He
doesn’t say if he is or not, but his reply seems to suggest that he
wasn’t raised to think much about sex and doesn’t. He loves his work
too much.” – ROGER EBERT review
velvet underground cameo!!?
such a beautiful documentary. i burst? into tears when “i’ll be your mirror” came on in the closing scene, such a wonderful role model
