Yes, I do it for a living. If you want to keep it simple, you can get tie backs and a very long piece of fabric. Put the ties on the top corners of the window and simply use them to hold the fabric. You can also use a rod and drap the scarf over and around it.

I tried something different. I hot glued bead fringe to the edge of a basic skarf, then took tie backs and hung them sideways above the window, and draped the scarf over them, with the beaded fringe against the window so that the sunlight shines through the beads.

There are all types of swag holder. I chose the one that look like a miniature shelf with a hole in the middle and put up one each side of the window. (they screw in) Then I threaded two panels into the holders and crossed them over in the middle of the window. Lots of work, but looks it!

just drape the fabric. take the fabric one end in each hand, drape it over the back side of the rod to where center of fabric is center of window. pull the fabric in the center down the back side of the rod to about 1.5 to 2 feet. then spread out at the top on the edge of the left and right side on the rod. and let the ends hang or use tie backs cut from the same fabric. Our use a contrasting fabric to highlight the other fabric.

pom poms that match the scarf is a good soft touch to an elegant scarf. I prefer black because it will match almost anything.
