    @Sorren11 …? When I plant a lot of tomatoes I use T post and rope/wire too. I can only support 3-4 plants at a time cause those big heirloom plants are heavy and can fall over. That concrete wire works very well and it’s sturdy…….Donald

  2. Sorren11 says:

    We have been useing concrete tomato wire cages? for years. We cut off the bottom ring so that we have prongs that we poke into the ground. This saves us alot of T post. We do put a t post at each end of the row and run a wire down the middle of the row to secure all the tomato cages.

    @broadwayFan28 … Coustralee is a pretty good heirloom, just slow to produce. I’d also like to try the Brandywine Pink which is also slow. Will be planting both? of those in the fall. This spring I’ll be planting hybrids Better Boy is one that does well here…….Donald

    @webcajun Donald, do those tomatoes taste better than store bought?

    Which varieties have you been testing lately? I know you said on the corn seed video that you were? going mostly to mostly Open Pollenated, That rules out Celebrity and Big Boy/Better Boy. What are you planting and what are the results?

    @chevotaSS69? … Thanks for the tip…….Donald

  6. chevotaSS69 says:

    to make help with the cages, instead of tyin’ every point with other wire you can just use the concrete wire itself. ? the overhang that you had left over, just take the mini bolt cutters and twist the concrete wire back over the overlap point. making a U in the wire. thanks for the videos!

    @MrMostellar: thanks :) but I am very afraid of snakes and all kind of creepy animals lol. Besides I am growing vegetables in containers in my covered patio, so I dont want my house infested with weird animals :) )) anyway I got rid of frogs by reducing the amount of water surrounding my plants so they dont have an artificial pond to live in, and it worked!!! thank you so much anyway.? peace ;)

    @Mr2wings … Cauliflower is a cool weather crop and as you said July was? hot. Peppers should have done well in the heat. Not enough information for me to even guess……Donald

  12. Mr2wings says:

    I know we had a heat wave in July, with 100 degree heat. (New Jersey)
    ANy suggestion would be appreciated.

    @I3addogy … One plant will easily? produce enough to pay for 2 post and 2 cages the first year. Work those numbers again……Donald

  14. I3addogy says:

    For the cost of the metal fence posts and concrete wire I can buy a lot of tomatoes.? Looks great but not very cost effective in my opinion.

  15. webcajun says:
