My sister uses free 5 gallon buckets for her backyard garden. She grows tomatoes, lettuce, radishes, squash, herbs and a lot of other vegetables out of free containers. When she moves, her garden moves with her.

@4GreenEarth2 You? have a great looking garden. Good work. Thanks for sharing.
container garden is great – we? have 20 – 5 gallon containers planted out with herbs and veggies.
You can get small amounts of? straw, bagged, at the pet store and lay it on top of the dirt. I think it might work for you when your fruit starts to ripen. Fantastic garden!
love? it!!
@HackerGuitarist the hold up is? the weather. Its only 46 degrees right now and its still a little cold for tomatoes and peppers here. In a couple weeks I will get them outside!
@beccawitch … whats? the hold up ?
@CHEECHAKOSMONTANA She uses Microlife 6-2-4 organic? biological fertilizer.
Those are pretty big considering they? are in containers!
Great job.? Blessings!
@beccawitch? I love it! Why pay for containers twice? You already paid for it once.

Great alternative to a traditionally tilled garden. Blows away the excuse, “I can’t have a garden, because I don’t have a very big yard!” Get with it and grow your own food! Thanks for sharing…and thanks to? your sister and brother-in-law for sharing.
I am going to try tomatoes in containers this year and maybe peppers. ? Cat liter buckets is what I will be using, I have so many and I would hate to waste them. Everything is looking good!
