That's it. I'm done with dating.

Yeah, I know I've said that before, but this time I mean it. Really. I've completely had it with men. Arrogant assholes, all of them.

I knew my most recent announcement would give my mother agita , but I didn't care. The second I graduated from college, Linda Antonelli began parading an endless stream of friends' sons and friends of son's friends in front of me. For the past seven years, I've had to endue her endless passive-aggressive symphonies about how nice it would be to have a grandchild before she died. I'd even resorted to making up a fake fiancé to get her off my back, but she caught me in that lie. I swear, the woman is omniscient. I bought myself a ring and everything, but she caught on.

Damn her.

I mean sure, I wanted to get married. Eventually. I mean, who doesn't want free Cusinart and china? But being the poster girl for the “Workaholic of the Year” award wasn't exactly consistent with meeting the types of men you'd be proud to take home to Mom, if you know what I mean. And because leaving my love life to fate wasn't working, about six months ago, I signed up with an online dating service.

Big mistake. Huge. Enormous.
