I hope you find this video helpful when selecting a coat! I forgot to mention the importance of the coat lining. I like to have one since it makes it more insulated and its softer on the skin. Again, it’s totally up to you if a liner fits your needs. The coat shown is my personal coat which I wear on a daily basis and was not sent to me from any company. I find this video informative, but it still makes me smile. I have 6 winter coats because I live in Canada and endure winters with many varying temperatures. I desperately wish I lived in a climate with a need for only one warm coat!

i have two winter coats; a red ( M&S) one and a navy, purple and mustard chequed one( H&M) . in my opinion, i prefer the checqued one, because it is more bright, but also because i dont have anything to wear with the red one!! what would you suggest?? it is red (durr!!) with buttons down the left side.

Nice advice for fitting a coat in areas with milder winter temps, but I like to have at least one or two coats with a looser fit so there’s plenty of room for a sweater or a blazer underneath. That’s “the Chicago way” (LOL).
Wool coats are always good, fake furs can offer a lot of warmth and some fun besides, and to be REALLY toasty, either a long well-fitted down coat with a hood, or my oh-so-luxurious all-time favorite(sorry PETA!), a full-length fur with a plush collar.
