Most herbs are pretty forgiving – bung them in pots and give them water and they’ll happily grow for you, inside or outside.

I keep my herbs in pots outside the conservatory and, except for basil which needs a bit more protection, they grow like weeds.

Some herbs can be grown indoors. Although most of my herbs are in the garden, I keep some growing in pots on the kitchen windowsill where they are handy for use. The ones I like to have indoors are basil, oregano, parsley, mint and thyme They need light, food and water.
