That would depend on how long you make them but I would expect to get 2 scarves out of a 200g skein.

Actually this is dependent on a number of items, not just the needle size and number of stitches. Are you going to knit every stitch (garter stitch) or create some kind of open lace pattern. How long are you planning to make the scarves? The average for a young person is typically somewhere between 5 and 6 feet, but some are more like neck warmers (3 feet) and some would leave me frightened if you were around machinery 8 – 9 feet. Are you planning on having fringe or other embellishment? Which Red Heart Super Saver are you using? The length of the yarn varies with the type. Solids are regular at 160 yards/ and Jumbo 835 yards,.heathers are 278 – 364 yards in length, flecks are 154 – 260 yards , and the variegated / ombres are 135 – 244 yards depending on the skein. So there are a lot of variables. If you have one of the standard 5 or 6 ounce skeins you should get 2 or 3 scarves if you knit at a reasonably even tension. If you have a jumbo skein – then you could have 5 or 6 easily. Not sure if I helped or hindered — but you can now be a better judge

I would figure about 200 yards for a nice scarf with some detail and about 6 feet long. Double that if you are doing a reversible / cabled / intricate scarf. The best way to decide is to start with a new skein of yarn, make your scarf and weigh the remainder. It is easy to figure out how much yarn you have used and have left.

    Merry Christmas
