My wife and I are going to have three raised bed gardens, but we want to make them small so we can walk around them. Thank you for allowing me to get great ideas? from your videos.
JESUS? CHRIST IS LORD
JESUS CHRIST is the Light of the world. Whoever follows Him will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Open your heart to Jesus Christ !
Curious: how did the plants do with the weed barrier on the bottom vs. leaving the beds exposed to the earth below? I have learned that tomatoes can grow up to 2′ deep but will also sprawl? out to keep finding soil. Also, what all did you plant?
Treated wood is ‘certified’ as OK for organic growing but for me I much prefer to stick with untreated. There are a few organic choices for treatment though – search? Google for ‘Treating Wood for Vegetable Gardens GrowVeg’ for my blog article on this which has a lot of discussion from gardeners.
Love what you’re? doing bro…Is that enough space between the beds?
Thanks for sharing! Peace.
True, but you can not compare the poisons in treated wood to that of water, unless you have some really bad water. The poison from the wood will leach into your soil. Have you ever seen the small warning tags that sometimes comes on treated wood? They recommend using a mask when cutting it and gloves when handling it. There is a reason for it too. Something to think about when building raised beds for food. Your bed designs? are really cool in any case.
Water is? a chemical.
I would never use pressure treated wood to grow anything where food is involved. Chemicals are used to treat the wood which can leach into your soil over time. They claim now they use chemicals that are safe around food, but? chemicals are chemicals. It is not worth taking a chance on.
Thanks.?
Nice? job on the video! DIFFERENT!

I had a 1″x 6″ board that I cut into four pieces each 16″ long with the ends cut at a 45 degree angle. Screw these on top of the four corners of your? raised bed box, this will give it more strength.
Pressure treated wood costs more so just use any old wood and give? it 2 coats of paint inside and out to make it water proof, it will outlast you. Pre-drill the holes and use 2 1/2″ wood screws and glue for extra strength.
A weed prevention fabric? is a fancy word for plastic, get rid of it, it’s stopping the earth worms from coming up to turn the soil into mulch, you need them. I used cheap pine, pressure treated wood- 2×12′s by 14 ft. long. Glue and wood screws to hold it together with no 4×4′s in the corners.
Your lawn will be dead in? about a week. I wouldn’t worry about it.
I actually just started getting into vegetable and fruit gardening late last year? and after doing my research decided to start out with a raised garden bed. It is about 12 ft wide X 5 ft deep X 12 inches high and was a great learning experience. The pests were the hardest and most frustrating part to deal with. Please take a look at it on my Youtube channel and give me some feedback. I love to learn from others. I also got all my supplies from a big box store. Came out under $60. Thanks.
why do you even use the wood? you can totally just stack up a hill of dirt and compost? for a raised bed.
You have to see our raised garden beds …Our garden is? going crazy..How do we stop the plants from growing???? Go to my channel? …… MrUrbangreen
OK, radio? on and looking at the specifications while the baby is in the back seat. Brilliant….

Planter boxes are a great way to add garden? elements where you might not have the best of soil conditions. wooden boxes are attractive, but you’re limited in shape, wood can rot, and they take some time to build. You can build a concrete planter box, like the ones shown? on Yard Crashers, and make different sizes. The blocks come in different colors, too and they are easy to move around. There are instructions and a video here:
