it smells? like lemon grass, doesnt it? i bought a perfume, i love it i smell lemon grass and when i checked the bottle is says melissa and verbena.
I have read that lemon balm can have an effect on your thyroid. Usually used for HYPERthyroidism.. I? am borderline HYPOthyroidism… I am worried this may affect me negatively. Any thoughts? I grew lemon balm last summer and I dried several jars worth for tea!
im growing it right now had for a couple of months the store was killing it i got it for 2$ watered it when i got home 3 or less hours later it sprung back up from the dead i keep it in my window? sill at day time an move it on my dresser at night cuz its winter an it gets cold there i might just keep i there if it dont effect it im also trying to grow mint from seeds an i got more lemon balm seeds to XP cant wait for spring
The trick to? making good lemon balm tea is to let it soak in the pot for a day and then add honey … my favorite mixture is lemon balm, sweet basil, calendula petals and honeysuckle flowers ~ “Eau de Vie”

Wow thanks for the info. I am lost though, ive read in my book “The New Holistic Herbal” by David HoffMann that balm is an emetic, but? Ive also read, elsewhere, that its soothes the stomach. Is this true? Or is it in very high dosage its an emetic. And I thought since it was in the mint family it is an anti-emetic. Please Help! Thank you.

i just found out today that previous renters left some of this at our current home. I was about to rip it out of the pot to plant something else, but they had left the tag so I knew what it was. I can’t wait to try it out for? tea! it smells SO good too!
How can you? tell the difference between lemon balm and lemon mint? I planted a bunch of herbs, the labels faded out, and I have not idea what is what.
