Once my tulips are done for the season, when can I dig up the bulbs?

We’re going to be doing some front yard landscaping and this means digging up the tulip beds. The tulips are in bloom now, and will be finished blooming by the time we start the project in June. How soon can I dig them up without hurting them? Also – do I need to store them in soil or transplant them right away?

  1. I know for sure says:

You can dig them up after the leaves turn brown and wilt. Hopefully you can leave them like that for a week or more.

they should be stored in a cool dry place with air circulation. An onion bag hanging in the basement or garage is perfect.
