Auburn IL – Gerry’s Barber Shop Revisited (2 of 4)

During our first visit, Gerry told us the story about how he had purchased Mike’s Barber Shop in 2008, following the unexpected death of Mike Fedor, who had worked as a traditional barber for a half-century. From 1972 until his passing in 2008, Mr. Fedor owned and operated "Mike’s Barber Shop" just off the square in Auburn’s business district. He was a local institution, and Gerry was well aware of the shoes he was filling when he purchased the business a few months after Mr. Fedor had passed away.
Although the shop has been renamed "Gerry’s Barber Shop", Mr. Fedor’s presence is still felt. Today, as you walk in the door, you won’t be able to miss the framed smock of Mike Fedor hanging on the wall. Gerry told us that even the comb in breast pocket belonged to Mr. Fedor. Gerry’s tribute to his predecessor adds an extra touch of warmth to an already friendly place.
Auburn is a city in Sangamon County located off Illinois Route 4 about 16 miles SSW of Springfield. The population was 4,317 at the 2000 census.

From my knowledge, a high fashion model possesses more exotic or out of the ordinary features, while a commercial model has more of an all American traditional, pretty, mainstream appearance.

High fashion models are usually either not very pretty, or very “weird” or “unconventional” looking, while a commercial model is usually more average-looking, girl-next-doorish, and mainstream since they usually appear in ads targeted at the average American.

where can i find a dress that looks like a high-fashion designer dress but doesn’t cost like one. i want something really different. it’s for homecoming so it should be sort of formal but not too dressy. i want somthing that looks very expensive but i don’t have very much money so it doesn’t need to be. Knit for my artist mannequin, Leopold, sometime between the spring of 2005 and the spring of 2006 (my memory deliberately blocked out a significant chunk of that time, so I can’t be sure). Recently reminded that I had made this.
Needles: US 1/2.25 mm
Yarn: JaggerSpun Heather 2/8 in the following . . .
Redwood, Hickory, Moss, Russet. Amethyst, Blue Mist* and . . .
JaggerSpun Maine Line 2/8 in Marigold
* If I had been paying more attention to the notes in the pattern, I would have used Slate Blue instead of Blue Mist. Oh well. Time to knit another one?
All scraps less than 2 oz remaining on the cones after being individually wound for resale.
Size: 1 1/2 inches wide and 8 feet long, which is rather short for a Who scarf, when you think about it.

I have a modern/contemporary taste and to furnish my kitchen, dining room, living room, and bedroom (not including kids room), I spent a total of $ 9800.
Kitchen: $ 3000 Stainless steel stove, refrigerator, microwave
Dining Room: $ 1200 (6 chair mahogany and leather set)
Living Room: $ 3600 (Leather sectional, coffee table, floor lamp, and entertainment console)
Bedroom: $ 2000 (Queen size bed frame, 2 night stands, mattress set, and dresser, 2 lamps.)
If you’re looking for nice, inexpensive furniture, try Ikea.
