both! i work in an office and sometimes i will wear a scarf to work for the warmth, realize it matches my outfit, and leave it on for the rest of the day! scarves have really become a popular accessory over the past few years, so i don’t think there’s anything wrong with wearing them for the style, as well as the warmth!
where i live, winter temperatures can go as low as -40C with the wind chill factor…so definitely for warmth.
