paint the furniture to all match, and you can paint the trim to match that. get some throw pillows, get bigger pieces of art, mirrors or candle holders for the walls instead of a whole bunch of little things. find ways of hiding the nic-nacks, put stuff in nice baskets or organize your closet to fit more stuff. a nice rug can change things or some new lamps. check out your local thrift stores to see what you can use to spice things up!
What do you think? Answer below!
Put a big Arizona State Sun devil Logo on your wall. Its burnt red and golden yellow.
You can definitely try to find some tapestries you can use too. They have so many ways to use them, ie on a window, over a bed or chair, hanging on a wall, or even on the floor. You could probably find something that can work.
you didn’t mention if this room is your bedroom or a living room. my husband did a beautiful wall hanging i think would work in either room. it is an abstract. he used a full sheet of plywood(use whatever size you want to put on your wall) .paint it the color you want.then cut another piece of plywood into 10 by 13″ rectangles(again, make it the size you want). he then place the rectangles abstractly on the full sheet of ply. to keep the absract look he layered the rectangles by using three together, two together and one alone. theses were then painted all the colors you have in your room and any other accent color you would like to add. my wall hanging took the place of a headboard. this idea can be modified for any size or shape you like. it looks great. everyone who sees it loves it.
I’d spice up the room w/ a hanging lamp. Tapestries would be nice to.

This site has some things to look at. THEN I’d try to find similar stuff cheaper. Apparently inlaid items would work and a gorgeous mirror would be nice. Find items you like, print or cut the pics and take them with you to stores. Peir 1 or Cost Plus World market have some cheaper choices.
Those colours sound gorgeous, and so exotic!
Some dark wood, and especially decoratively carved wood, would look stunning in there, and add to the India/Morocco theme.
Also, what about some wrought iron – for candle holders, lights etc?
A folding screen would give a really nice touch too, see if you can find one that is a dark wood, with an intricate wrought iron inlay …. it would be gorgeous.
Look out for coloured voile panels to hang at the window, and drape at the window – reds, oranges, golds and even a magenta pink would be great. You could try buying sari material to drape at the window too – the ‘drape-ier’ and fuller the better, I would say.
Also, go for wall-hangings with the ‘ethnic’ feel, throws, cushion covers etc. And look out for lots of ethnic-style accessories in shops, wood-carvings, brass-figures etc. This look is not a minimal look – so pile in all your favourite (ethnic-style) bits and pieces.
Use lots of candles and fairy lights to get a really ‘mellow’ feel to your room.
I think that it will be a really nice, relaxed feel to your room.
Good luck with your decorating project, and hope you have lots of fun doing it.
