Congratulations on passing 10,000 views. I am about a dozen of those – I love it and have passed the link to all I know. However, I am curious at what program you used to get the ‘Ken Burns effect’ in the video. Care to Share?

Love the gorgeous structures and trellises flowing with vines and such. The bare structures you show being lashed and crafted are very inspirational.

A number of our new community gardeners have taken inspiration from them and are creating their own garden art. They probably had the talent, but you gave them permission to go for it.

@stvna8040 … I’ve looked into the T-tape but figured I’m in and out with the tractor so much it would get damaged. If I would ever down size then it would certainly be an option……….Donald

  27. stvna8040 says:

you should try drip watering system, it is way more effective and saves way more water. imagine 3 hours of drip system watering, you wouldn’t have to water for another week. anyway i enjoy watching your videos, keep them up.

  28. webcajun says:

@bilaczenko … using a sprinkler is ok for a small garden but not practical for one of any size. Check out the video on the “Tomato Watering System”. Saves a lot of water……..Donald

  29. bilaczenko says:

Mate this is old school watering, here in down under with water restrictions we would be prosecuted for using water sprinkler practises, the new awareness for precisious water of gardening is mulch , mulch and more mulch with a drip water feed or hand held water direct, but then again you may have youre own water well. Kind Regards

  30. webcajun says:

@xchosenxbox … It really depends on how well your soil holds water. My soil is sandy and drains well so every other day is just about right. If you use the PVC waters (check out the video) I’d say anywhere from 1/2 to 1 gal. a day kept mine going strong during a really dry spell last year. Dig down a few inches and check how moist the soil is and go from there……..Donald

  31. xchosenxbox says:

Hey im just curious how often should i water my tomatoes, obviously more often on very hot days but should i normally water every other day and about how much water should i use..I only grow pretty big tomatoes never cherry;s Would appreciate a bit of advice thanx..

  33. switch55 says:

Thanks for your fast reply. I enjoy your videos

  34. webcajun says:

@switch55 … this year my Cherokee Purple did pretty well, so did the Coustralee. You can save the seeds from both of these for the next season…….Donald

  35. switch55 says:

@webcajun Thanks I’ll try that. Do you have a suggestion on another one that won’t split as easy yet still grows large?

  36. webcajun says:

@switch55 … adjust the amount to where the soil is just moist and not wet all the time. I grew Better Boys for quite a few years and found they do split pretty easy……Donald

  37. switch55 says:

Hiya. I’m on my 2nd year with (better boys) tomato plants in 2 gal pots. I’d water them til i’d see it start draining out the bottom holes everyday. Plants are big but tomatoes are cracking. Guessing too much water so maybe drop down to a quart a day instead? thanks

  38. webcajun says:

@raynorh … my garden is just a little too big for that……Donald

  39. raynorh says:

why not harvest rain water? I do. it’s easy

  40. DHY2KA says:

@webcajun …..I hear that, My neighbor down the road grows a big garden like you, but, he’s lucky enough to have a nice size pond not to far from the end of his garden and he just takes a 2″ pump and “floods the middles”. You got some golf cart size middles there, that would take a heap o’ water.. lol

Take care and keep the vids coming, I really enjoy em’ and I get a big kick out of them dogs! :0) God bless you and yours.

  41. webcajun says:

@DHY2KA … If I was using well water that would be an option but with town water I couldn’t afford the bill. lol…. Donald

  42. DHY2KA says:

Imagine back in the day when bringing water to the garden by hand or with a mule and cart.. LOL My grandpa said he would just draw a rain turtle in the dirt and pray..

You should take that middle buster and plow a deep trench down through the middle of your garden and lay pipe for an irrigation system, stob up about 8 ft every 50 ft or so with a line and stick a radial sprinkler on it.

  43. webcajun says:

@spacewalker1551 … probably the best time to water your garden is in the morning. Plants will be a little droopy in the heat of the day…….. Donald

  44. spacewalker1551 says:

Got a question….During the midday my chard and mustard greens look a little give out (they droop but then pick back up in the afternoon). I hear watering the garden during midday isn’t too good for the plants, but I guess in the case of no rain and how big your garden is; you do what you can to save. What is your take on what time of day is the best to water? Thanks.

  45. webcajun says:

    @marieatthelake … thanks….. Donald

  46. marieatthelake says:

    Impressive garden.

  47. webcajun says:

@demmylowther … whichever way you fell is right is the way to go….. Donald

  48. demmylowther says:

I’m not a farmer but common sense tells me that buying low cost soaker hoses,or a drip system that you need to install only once that meters a precise amount of water for a particular plant is crucial for a small to med. size farmer.I have a drip system kit I bought at Wal-mart that has little hoses that branch off the main hose with nozzles rated for GPH,and mini sprinklers.

  49. webcajun says:

    @MRTHATSFAKEANDGAY … thanks…… Donald

  50. MRTHATSFAKEANDGAY says:

    nice video!
