I’m in pest control. Feel free to use slug bait with the active ingredient metaldehyde. Metaldehyde is an organic compound and does exactly what the beer does (only faster). Metaldehyde is produced in humans when we are “hung-over” after drinking. Slugs can’t handle it (that’s why the beer kills them) when it? is produced in them. I’ve used both methods to fight slugs (beer or metaldehyde [HiYield brand]) and the granules are just faster. Nice channel, by the way!

  2. seocom says:

I love the interaction between? the two.. don’t knock it..

  3. KallyJones says:

Chickens love slugs. Mine enjoy them greatly. Slugs? love the yeasty smell of beer, but at least they die happily, or possibly finding fault with their world in a giant tirade.

  5. dayspeace says:

  6. myastroflight says:

The goldfish are very happy? too!

  7. OurBleuTube says:

All I learned was there is a mom trying to show how cute her daughter? is. Teach her to sing and dance and put her on American Idol. This is supposed to be a learning video for gardening, very disappointing.

  8. Missmadammozart says:

@Missmadammozart wait, pond at the end, *whew* that couldv’e been bad?

  9. Missmadammozart says:

holy? crappers and milk i saw the cat and you weren’t talking about water 0-o

  10. josierjohnson says:

Thanks? for the slug beer tip!

  11. tkdartistmom says:

I love watching how much fun you and your daughter have…. I wish my daughter and I had that much fun together, she’s 12 and to cool to hang with her? mom! UGH!!!

  12. enoughraptor6 says:

@menmach100 natives use to grow sweet corn, popcorn, ect, and diffrent beans and squash so? i dont think it really matters.

  13. menmach100 says:

hey patti, i was wondering if there is anything wrong with doing some like sweet corn, bush beans, and summer squash? does it really matter what kind of beans, sqaush and corn you use? thanks, alex!?

  14. TheStealthDragoon says:

“but they’re dunk when they die!” sorry garden girl, ur daughter? steals the show lmao. wheres her channel at?

  15. kharmaisis says:

i love? this kid – she is so excited and awesome. great videos, thanks!

  16. friendorphobia says:

I love that you fed the slugs to the fish! I always felt like such a sadist when I paid the neighbor kids? a penny a slug/snail/hornworm, then just threw them in the middle of the street to die in the 100+ degrees. (the slugs, not the kids)

  17. pdsavage says:

As? Geoff Lawton says: “If you have a snail or slug problem you have a duck deficiency!”

  18. martilindsey says:

I tried this last year with no success. I think the birds ate most of the seeds. I’m thinking that corn is just not my crop.

The info I read indicated that you plant the corn, wait until it’s about a foot, then plant? the beans to climb the corn and the squash to shade.

I never made it past the corn…..

  19. sexyellex says:

    Lovely video!?

  20. chrisXBOX360 says:

  23. iamthecheesiest2 says:

copefarms : i too agree.. i didnt cook a single one of my beans this year me and my 2? 1/2 yr old stood there eating them outta the garden instead there so much better that way. and why cut the small bean why not leave it to grow it would matured after picking some of the other plants and it gets more sun! oh what ever this was kinda boring to watch and not be doing my self instead! great comment post though :D

  24. paintandillustrate says:

I? found a treasure on youtube I’m subscribing this is cool

  25. broadwayFan28 says:

@askidolap I like Donald’s way – just plant? them right into the ground, maybe 2 to 4 weeks after the last frost. That seems late but they grow fast in warm soil. I never had good luck transplanting okra.

  26. webcajun says:

@askidolap? … The weather has to be hot for okra to grow…….Donald

  27. askidolap says:

Hi there, greetngs from Bosnia. A question for you. This year I? started my okra seeds indoor, when thay were enough I planted them outside in my garden where they grew ony a few inches and stopped. Why? What did I do wrong???

  28. SidneyBou says:

@GEO900RGE If you make a small garden you can smother the grass put some ground cloth on an area or use round up or just news paper but you need to keep the news paper there the grass will be down by the? time you put in your spring garden. Of course if it snows you are already late.

  29. webcajun says:

@GEO900RGE … I leave enough room to run the tiller through the middles, use a cultivator and? a good old fashion hoe…….Donald

  30. webcajun says:

@caholaway …It’s recommended by the experts to plant at 12 inches but I plant mine at? 4-6 ft. cause I want them to bush out rather than grow tall…….Donald

  31. caholaway says:

How far apart? do they go?

  32. webcajun says:

@sparkie119 …Weather and drying conditions has a lot to do with how often to water. Simplest way is to dig down a few inches and check for? moisture…..Donald

  33. sparkie119 says:

Donald…. We live in New Mexico and, it sure is hot here.? But it really is dry! But will just have to water more often. How many times does it need to be watered a week Donald?

  34. webcajun says:

@sparkie119? …Okra likes hot weather and we have plenty of that. lol…….Donald

  35. sparkie119 says:

Como sa va Bayou Gardener? Good job planting the Okra! I wish I was there to eat some fresh with you. I grew Okra at one point but it got eaten by a bunch of little black ants!. But I’m going to try and grow some more. I also like it fresh of,? of the plant.

  36. webcajun says:

@bobinmissouri …start your tomato and pepper seeds 6-8 weeks? before you plan on transplanting into the garden…..Donald

  37. bobinmissouri says:

nothing like watching great? videos when it too cold to be outside when should i start tomater seed in northern missour?

  38. webcajun says:

@guest2424 … That works very well if you’re planting by hand, reduces the germination time? by several days. When using a planter you can’t do that……Donald

  39. guest2424 says:

@Kashmir2000is watch?v=h5ReTw60xIM Okra is VERY VERY generous with seed production and handling the seeds is VERY easy. Each pod can EASILY give you 25 seeds and you can EASILY harvest 1 or more per plant, so you can EASILY end up with a MINIMUM of 25 times as many seeds as you need to do the same grow next year, or to have a MINIMUM of 10 times as many plants next year, and that is as conservative as you can be! For maximum? LOL, you could easily get about 1,000 seeds per? plant.

  40. guest2424 says:

I just found/watched a video about a guy that said he soaks his okra seeds in water for 24 hours before? planting. watch?v=8yrjw1Ky27I

  41. webcajun says:

@TheClownCentral? … Kill Deer or Killde for short……..Donald

  42. TheClownCentral says:

lol what kind of bird? was that? Its eggs looked like rocks.

  43. GangBoxer says:

    @webcajun I will,Thanks. :) ?

  44. webcajun says:

@GangBoxer …? keep in mind that okra loves hot weather…….Donald

  45. GangBoxer says:

    This is? very helpful!
I cant wait to start my okra!

  46. webcajun says:

    @Allen2045 …? now you’re making me hungry……..Donald

  47. Allen2045 says:

For my birthday dinner growing up in Texas I always had fried okra, red beans, cornbread, chicken friend steak with gravy and mashed potatoes,? For desert peach cobler or pecan pie.

  48. clairesallotment says:

@hakei432 They started off very well, then we had a cold? snap and they all died. Next year I’ll start off inside the house as it’s warmer, then move to the greenhouse later in the year. So next year I’ll do another video on okra.

  49. hakei432 says:

@clairesallotment hey can you please tell how you went with growing okra? in a greenhouse?
