What are good butterfly attractant plants, and will monarch butterflies ever come to WA?

I am planning to make a great butterfly garden and seeking some answers.

    Asclepias also known as butterfly weed or milkweed. Monarchs will lay their eggs on these plants. Butterfly bush is a good one. Make sure there is a water source close by (anything that collects even small amounts of water). Good luck.
