Try planting bitter guord which is good for diabetes (the leaves as well as the guords).Tumeric and ginger are also herbs for certain cures.
You didn’t give us your planting zone. Are you starting indoors or out?
Basil is a great starter plant because it’s easy to grow, yields a huge harvest, and a great herb to have for cooking. Depending on variety, the bush can get quite large, so plan accordingly. Cilantro is also easy to grow, and you get coriander too! It’s also a good natural insect repellant, but it can grow very tall if you’re aiming for coriander. Basically research to find out what’s good in your zone and just pick what you like and experiment.
thyme, oregano, rosemary all grow in many zones
