Question by Lindsey girl: When can I start using my herbs from my herb garden?
Here is a picture of how much they’ve grown so far. See if you can tell by the picture about how much longer before I can use them.

Different herbs are harvested differently. Most are harvested as young tender leaves. Then either used fresh or dried and mashed and stored.
Others the seeds are dried and used some stems are dried and ground and stored.
Some roots are chopped and dried or used fresh.
So it depends on what type of herb. Medicine, culinary. etc.

    yours need to grow a little more but you can use them as much as you want as long as you leave enough to aloow further growth

    May be it needs 6 months to get them harvest. Anyway, nice photo! I think you have been putting a lot effort into the growing of these herbs. We use local herbs as medicine here. We don’t grow them ourself… it’s because they are everywhere around us… please see the photos of our herb class outing “Herb Class Outing 2008″ at:
