Question by stupid1: where to donate nice womens clothes for abused women going back to the working world?
I’m interested in donating nice womens clothes to abused or battered women who are looking for jobs. I thought there is a charity called dressed for success. It must be in the Chgo. area.

Those kinds of places are high end consignment shops. Nearly every community that has a shelter for these women has a resale shop where the women can get clothing for free. Call your local police, they will give you the contact information for the shelter in your area. Ask the person you talk to if they have a thrift store that gives the clothing to women in this situation.

check for “rescue missions” these are to restore people back to society….back to work etc…
Just call your local battered women’s shelter. They will either take them or tell you where you can. That is where I donate all mine. They need children’s clothes as well as adults. Not only is it a great cause it is tax deductible! Local churches take them as well. They give them to those that need them.
